About

Wm. Rowen Grant Funeral Home is an important part of Southampton's history. At the corner of Street Road and Second Street Pike, Wm. Rowen Grant Funeral Home dates back to the 1870s. We've renovated our historic building through the years to add modern amenities while preserving the character of the Victorian-era structure.

It's a light-filled space with lovely furnishings, private arrangement rooms and a chapel that accommodates 100 guests. There's plenty of parking on-site.

History

William Rowen was an influential resident of Southampton and president of the Philadelphia School Board. He opened Wm. Rowen Grant Funeral Home in 1870.

In the early 1940s, his grandson, William Rowen Grant, purchased the old Leedman Funeral Home and moved the family business to a historic building on Street Road in Bucks County's Southampton Township. Leedman Funeral Home was well established in the area and associated with the Oliver Bair Company, an exclusive Philadelphia funeral home at the turn of the 20th century.

The Grant family were always pioneers, and they continued that path when they opened one of the earlier crematories in the area at their funeral home in 1970. Great-grandson William Rowen Grant Jr. continued the family business until October 1995, when it became part of the Dignity Memorial network.
